Model Monday: Jarah-Evelyn Makalapua Mariano
Some women have it all: show-stopping looks, a success career, and an education to boot! Jarah-Evelyn Mariano is one of those lucky ladies. And she even meets two descriptors that we dont frequently get to put together, ”Asian” and “supermodel,” but Jarah made it happen! Her alluring Asian features are a combination of her Hawaiian, Chinese and Korean ancestry. Hailing from Hawaii, but discovered on the streets of California, she moved to NYC immediately after finishing high school in Santa Monica. What’s particularly impressive about this star is that she reached supermodel status while also studying at Pace University. In spite of her success in the modeling world she balanced a burgeoning career and academics and graduated with a degree in Speech Communications.
Her face has been embraced far and wide. From Abercrombie & Fitch, MAC cosmetics, and H&M advertisements to fashion magazines Self, Vanity Fair, and Elle – she definitely did the phrase “Show me what you got” and even appeared in Jay-Z’s music video for the song.
We love that she brings a refreshing take on beauty in what can sometimes be a sea of homogenous looks.
