Princess Beatrice’s Hat Hit Ebay

Forget about having a mean shoe game, to compete with the Brits, you must be able to whip your head into shape! Royal Wedding fashion was all about topping off your rageworthy dress or suit with an avant garde hat. Princess Beatrice by far stole the attention with her tan, swirling hat. So much so, that it is soon to be auctioned on Ebay with the proceeds going to two charities: the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, and the British charity Children in Crisis. The hat has been called wacky, coocky, a pretzel, reidneer antlers, and has inspired its own Facebook page entitled “Princess Beatrice’s Ridiculous Royal Wedding Hat”– attracting nearly 140,000 fans. All in all, thank goodness for this Philip Treacy creation as it will be supporting two good causes.

Update– The bidding is finally over and Princess Beatrice’s hat sold for £81,101 (about $130,767 at current exchange), more than any other hat has ever sold for on eBay. The identity of the winner is unknown, though at one point the Aussi band Wiggles was in the lead.
